Staff Recommendation: This is Will Cohu’s first novel although he has written several books about nature. This shows in his lyrical description of the Lincolnshire landscape. On a freezing winter’s morning in 1985 Norman Tanner kills his workmate Brian and believes he will never be found out. But Norman doesn’t know how he his caught up in a story that stretches back to the Victorian summer of 1875, when two travellers walking across the Lincolnshire Wolds end up in Southby, a village riven with dark secrets. I loved this book.
